Animals Celebrate Christmas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

November 10, 2009

Even the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park get in the Christmas spirit this time of year! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is decorated for Christmas with lots of greenery and animal themed decorations throughout the park. The kids tend to love these decorations, since they are all animal themed. The popular activity at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade. This parade is held daily at 4 PM and is very a must see for kids of all ages. Since this parade is held during the day, the parade does not feature a lot of lights, but lots of Christmas decorations, Goofy in a Santa suit, and just fun decorations. This parade is included with your paid admission into Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Click here for more info on Disney World vacations or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

The Downtown Disney Marketing and West Side also celebrated the Christmas Season with meet and greets with Santa, live entertainment and beautiful decorations.  From December 15-24, you can meet Santa from 12 PM-10 PM.  Besides Santa, there will be lots of live entertainment including choirs from local schools, Dj’s with dance parties, and much more.  The Downtown Disney Marketplace is free.  For pictures with Santa, you can either use your own camera or the Disney Photographer can take pictures for PhotoPass.  Besides Santa and live entertainment, you may want to hit the train for younger kids or the carousel for everyone else.  To pick up your favorite Christmas souvenirs, stop by the Disney Christmas store to get an ornament, stocking, or just fun Disney holiday souvenir.

Besides the amazing decorations, entertainment, and special events, there are even recreational activities just for the Holiday Season.  One of the most popular recreation activities is the Horse Drawn Carriage Rides.  Imagine a ride around Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort with bells a jingling.  This fun Carriage Ride is 30 minutes for a family of 4 people.

At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort you can enjoy a hayride while you sing Christmas carols.  This fun hayride is held nightly and is fun for kids of all ages.  You can enjoy a dinner at Hoop Dee Doo and then take a hayride.

Visiting Disney World During the Holidays

October 21, 2009

The Walt Disney World Resort is a magical place year round, but there is something extra magical about visiting Disney World during the Christmas Season.  Disney has beautiful decorations, special events, and entertainment at all of the Disney Theme Parks, Downtown Disney, and Disney Resorts.  As an Orlando local and travel agent with Destinations in Florida Travel, I thought I would have a blog all about the fun things to do at Disney World and Orlando for the Holiday Season.  Join me on my adventures of snow at Magic Kingdom, ICE at Gaylord Palms, and pet visits with Santa Claus!
